Who we are: Anveshan is a career-discovery assessment and guidance service run by the Infinity Leadership Academy, an initiative of the Nirantara Foundation. This policy explains what information we collect from students and parents, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

A note for our young users. Anveshan is used by students, many of whom are under 18. We take that seriously. We collect only what we need to give a student their career report and guidance, and we never sell your information or use it to advertise to children.

What we collect

Registration details you give us: the student’s name, parent or guardian name and mobile number, email, school, city, state, grade, stream (for Grade 11), age, and preferred language.
The student’s answers to the assessment.
The results we generate: the profile, career matches, and report, linked to a unique Anveshan Assessment ID.
If you use the AI Counsellor (Disha), the messages exchanged in that chat.
Basic technical information needed to run the website, kept to a minimum.

Why we collect it

To produce the student’s personal career report and summary.
To provide the optional AI Counsellor that explains the report and answers career questions.
To contact the student or parent about their report and result, and to provide support.
To improve the accuracy and quality of the assessment over time, using results in a combined, de-identified way.
To run our programmes, including school and community workshops.

Consent, and parental consent for minors

We collect and use a student’s information only with consent. Where the student is under 18, we require the agreement of a parent or guardian, given at registration and confirmed using the parent or guardian’s mobile number and email.

The AI Counsellor (Disha)

If a student chooses to use Disha, an artificial-intelligence assistant reads that student’s own report and chats with them to explain it and answer career questions. Conversations are kept private, used to help the student in the moment, and may be reviewed in a de-identified way to improve the service. Disha is a guidance tool, not a substitute for a parent, teacher, or professional, and is designed to suggest speaking to a trusted adult if a conversation goes beyond careers.

Languages

The assessment and services may be offered in English, Kannada, Hindi, and other languages. Your information is handled in the same way whichever language you choose. Certain technical terms and proper nouns (for example IAS, IIT, World Bank) remain in English within all languages.

How we protect it, and who we share it with

We store data securely, limit access to those who need it, and do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes. We share information only where necessary to run the service — for example a payment provider to process a payment, or the technology services that host the platform — and only to the extent needed.

How long we keep it

We keep a student’s data for as long as needed to provide their report and guidance and to improve the service, and for a reasonable period afterwards. You may ask us to delete it sooner (see your rights below).

Your rights

You, or a parent on a student’s behalf, may ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, or delete it, and may withdraw consent. Write to direction@goanveshan.in and we will act on your request.

Children and advertising

We do not use children’s data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising, and we do not profile children for any purpose other than producing their own guidance report.
